The Bemi Cognita Tab 5 is a lightweight and handy solution for reading text for those who value simple operation without sacrificing the advanced features of an e-reader!

At the heart of the Cognita Tab 5 is a Cortex-A7 quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

The reader has a 5.76" screen with a built-in touch panel and backlight. It impresses with its practicality thanks to additional page-turning keys, ease of touch operation, lightness and versatility.

The Cognita Tab 5 reader is available in two colour versions: grey and white, and black and grey.

The 16GB internal memory can hold a whole lot of books – forget about heavy suitcases.

If you need more space, the Cognita Tab 5 also has a microSD card reader that supports cards with a capacity of up to 64GB.

The 3.5mm headphone jack is ideal for listening to audiobooks or music.

The built-in Wi-Fi module makes it easy to connect to the internet and transfer files without using a cable.

Thanks to the open Android 8.1 system, you can download other applications for reading books, listening to audiobooks or news channels.

Screen

The Cognita Tab 5 is equipped with a 5.76" monochrome screen with e-paper technology that imitates the effect of traditional paper printing. The screen has a resolution of 920x680 pixels and a high contrast of 198 ppi, ensuring comfortable reading without eye strain. The text is clear and easy to read.

The Cognita Tab 5 is ideal for reading text, but is less suitable for displaying photos and graphics as it displays 4 shades of grey.

Touch panel with anti-reflective coating / Page turn buttons

The flat touch panel of the Cognita Tab 5 is covered with a special anti-reflective coating, allowing you to read books even in bright sunlight. The touch screen ensures intuitive, easy operation of the device.

The practical page turning keys are the perfect addition.

Screen backlight

The Bemi Cognita Tab 5 has a built-in backlight with brightness control.

Wi-Fi

With Wi-Fi connectivity, Cognita Tab 5 allows you to download new books, access applications, listen to internet radio and update your device. Simply connect to your preferred network and enjoy access to the latest releases, updates and application features wherever you have Wi-Fi access.

File Transfer

With options for file transfer via Wi-Fi or USB cable, the Cognita Tab 5 allows you to quickly and easily import your favourite books, documents and multimedia files. Simply connect to your computer or use a Wi-Fi connection for seamless synchronisation.

Book formats

The Cognita Tab 5 supports most available e-book formats, such as: PDF (Reflow), epub, MOBI (mobipocket), FB2, FB2.ZIP, AZW, AZW3, CHM, PRC, DOC, DOCX, TXT, HTM, HTML, RTF.

In addition, the reader plays audio files in the following formats: mp3, OGG, FLAC, WAV, AAC, M4A.

PDF Reflow

Cognita Tab 5 supports the very useful Reflow function for PDF files. Reflow breaks down the content of a PDF file so that it can be read as text, just like in an epub or fb2 file. The text automatically adjusts to the page size, making reading pleasant and comfortable. The text can also be enlarged, which is not possible when reading the original PDF file.

TTS – text to speech

TTS – text to speech – is a speech synthesiser or a function that converts written text into sound. Thanks to this function, Cognita Tab 5 allows you to turn a book you are reading into an audiobook.

This feature is particularly useful for people who enjoy listening to audiobooks, want to deepen their knowledge and language skills, or want to multitask while enjoying their books.

Cognita Tab 5 supports speech synthesis in 10 languages: Polish, English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Dictionary/Translator

Cognita Tab 5 has built-in dictionary functions (stardict format) and a translator with multiple languages to choose from. The translator supports the translation of individual words as well as entire paragraphs or pages.

The device also allows you to look up words in Wikipedia.

Book library

Cognita Tab 5 allows you to view your library as tiles with book covers or a list of files, both in the internal memory and on a memory card if it has been inserted into the reader.

In addition to the name of the book/file, you can view the file format (list) and the percentage of the book read.

The library can be displayed by category: All books, Recently read, Recently added, Read and Unread.

Additionally, you can sort the library, perform batch operations, create a new folder, search for a book or refresh the library directly from the home screen.

Reading functions

Cognita Tab 5 has an extensive list of features and settings available while reading books, similar to advanced e-readers on the market.

Features such as the following are available:

Dictionary, Translator, Wikipedia, Glossary, TTS, Refresh Mode, Reading Time Reminder, Progress Format.

The following settings are available:

Word selection, Selected text, Add bookmark, About the book, Bookmark list, Table of contents, Go to page, Search, Zoom, Contrast, Reflow, Font size, Font type, Line spacing, Margins, Rotate screen, Auto page turn.

Not all features are available for every file format.

Footnotes

Cognita Tab 5 conveniently supports footnotes. If a book has footnotes, you can go to the footnote text with a single tap on the footnote.

Battery life

Bemi Cognita Tab 5 has a built-in 1700mAh battery. When fully charged, the device can operate for up to 2 weeks*.

*Under the following conditions: half an hour of reading per day, 30 seconds average page turn time, backlight set to the lowest level, Wi-Fi turned off, shortest sleep and auto-off time set.
