Introduction

Bemi Cognita Tab 5 is a light and handy solution for reading text for people who value simple operation without giving up the advanced functions of a book reader!

The heart of Cognita Tab 5 is a processor with 4 cores (Quad-core) Cortex-A7 with 1GB RAM.

The reader has a 5.76” screen with a built-in touch panel and backlight. It impresses with its practicality thanks to additional page change keys, easy touch operation, lightness and versatility.

Cognita Tab 5 is available in two color combinations: Grey/White andBlack/Grey.

The 16GB internal memory will hold a ton of books - forget about weighing them down with your suitcases.

If you need more space, the Cognita Tab 5 also has a microSD card reader that supports cards up to 64GB.

The 3.5mm headphone jack is the perfect partner if you want to listen to audiobooks or music.

The built-in Wi-Fi module makes it easy to connect to the Internet and allows you to transfer files without using a cable.

Thanks to the open Android system in version 8.1, you can upload other applications for reading books, listening to audiobooks or news channels.

Cognita Tab 5 is equipped with a 5.76" monochrome screen in e-paper technology, which imitates the effect of traditional printing on paper. The screen has a resolution of 920x680 pixels and high contrast at 198 ppi, thanks to which it ensures comfortable reading without eye fatigue. The text is clear and easy to read.

Cognita Tab 5 is ideal for reading text, but it will not work well when displaying photos and graphics because it displays 4 shades of gray.

Touch panel with anti-reflective coating / Page turn keys

The flat touch panel of the Cognity Tab 5 is covered with a special anti-reflective coating, thanks to which you can read books even in full sunlight. The touch screen ensures intuitive, easy operation of the device.

The practical page turn keys are an ideal addition.

Book Formats

Cognita Tab 5 supports most of the available e-book formats such as: PDF (Reflow), epub, MOBI (mobipocket), FB2, FB2.ZIP, AZW, AZW3, CHM, PRC, DOC, DOCX, TXT, HTM, HTML, RTF.

It also displays graphic files in the following formats: JPG, BMP, PNG and audio: mp3, OGG, FLAC, WAV, AAC, M4A.

PDF Reflow

Cognita Tab 5 supports a very useful Reflow function for PDF files. Reflow is a way of breaking up the content of a PDF file so that it is read as text, just like in a file such as epub or fb2. The text automatically adjusts to the size of the page, making reading pleasant and comfortable. The text can also be enlarged, which is impossible when reading the original PDF file.

TTS – text to speech

TTS is a speech synthesizer or a function that allows you to convert written text to sound. With this function, Cognita Tab 5 allows you to turn a book you are reading into an audiobook.

This function is especially useful for people who like to listen to audiobooks, want to deepen their knowledge, language skills or want to perform many tasks at the same time while enjoying their books.

Cognita Tab 5 supports speech synthesizer in 10 languages: Polish, English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Dictionary/Translator

Cognita Tab 5 has built-in dictionary function (stardict format) and a translator with many languages ​​to choose from. The translator supports the translation of single words as well as entire paragraphs or pages.

The device also allows you to check a word in Wikipedia.

Thanks to the built-in Glossary, we can always go back to our translations to check them again.

Book Library

Cognita Tab5 allows you to display the library as tiles with book covers or a list of files, both in internal memory and on a memory card if it has been placed in the reader.

In addition to the name of the book/file, we can view the file format (list) and the % of the book read.

The library can be displayed by categories: All books, Recently read, Recently added, Read and Unread.

Additionally, the library can be sorted, perform batch actions, create a new folder, search for a book or refresh the library directly from the main screen.

Reading Features

Cognita Tab 5 has an extensive list of available features and settings when reading books like in advanced e-readers on the market.

Cognita Tab 5 conveniently supports the footnotes function. If a book has footnotes, you can go to the footnote text with a single tap.

Working time

Bemi Cognita Tab 5 has a built-in 1700mAh battery. After fully charging the battery, the device can work up to 2 weeks*.

*Under the following conditions: half an hour of reading per day, 30 seconds average page change time, backlight set on lowest level, shortest sleep and auto shutdown time set.
